Then, melt the office phones of your Congressman and Senator... this governmental takeover of health care has to be stopped.I know that right now people are focusing on the monstrosity known as "Cap & Trade". And, yes... It's a horrifying bill. And we should protest that as well. But, seriously? It's not the most dangerous thing facing us right now. I know, I know... it's a huge, crippling energy tax that will affect every single one of us. But, the good news is that it's just a tax. If it gets passed, (God forbid), it can be repealed.
Health care is an entirely different beast. It will create a huge government program. With lots of little spin-off programs. And, we all know that if a new government program is allowed to be created... it can never be killed.
For example, the Department of Energy was created in 1977 to reduce our dependency on foreign oil. That's right. Way back in the '70s, while we were dancing in discos and wearing really ugly clothes, Jimmy Carter (soon to be known as the *2nd* worst American president) created a "Governmental department whose mission is to advance energy technology and promote related innovation in the United States."
Yeah. How's that working out for us? All it is now is nothing more than a huge bureaucracy, wasting millions of taxpayer dollars. And 32 years later, it still hasn't managed to decrease our dependency on foreign oil.
Nationalized health care must be stopped. It must be shot with a silver bullet, stabbed in the heart with a wooden stake and it's ashes must be scattered at all four corners of the Earth.
Hmmm, maybe I've been reading too many Stephen King books.
In any event, you need to call, write or e-mail your representatives. Obama's poll numbers are dropping. He was at -7 (!) in the Rasmussen Presidential Approval Index poll today. And, that's making a lot of the Congress critters (even some Democrats) much more receptive to the will of the people.
Then, after you've done your part and saved our Republic, have a great weekend!
